Engineers Australia Northern Division (EA)

Engineers Australia (EA) is the peak body for engineering practitioners in Australia representing all disciplines and branches of engineering. With over 100,000 members Australia wide, EA is the largest and most diverse professional engineering body in Australia with representation in every State and Territory. EA has significant global reach with overseas Chapters across South East Asia, the Middle East and U.K

EA’s Northern Division covers a large geographical area, including the whole of the Northern Territory, Indonesia and East Timor. The Division office is located in Darwin, with regional groups in Alice Springs, Katherine, Jabiru and Jakarta.

Mark is an immigrant to Australia, born in Paisley Scotland, the son of a Master Stonemason. Mark emigrated to Australia in 1977 with his family and grew up in Tasmania. Mark Monaghan has been a qualified teacher and educator for about 25 years. Most recently as fulfilling the roles College Director of the Ngakwurralangwa College on Groote Eylandt and West Arnhem College in Jabiru.

Mark moved to the Territory 18 years ago and has significant experience as an educator across remote Indigenous communities on the Tiwi Islands, East Arnhem and the Roper Shire. He has strong Indigenous links through his children and partner and is passionate about inspiring communities to shape their future and leave a sustainable legacy for generations to come.

Mark recently took up a position as General Manager of Engineers Australia and continues to support community development through promotion and up skilling of the engineering community as it shapes the future of the Northern Territory and the South East Asian region.
